Twelve!

Updated: Oct 27, 2023

On October 7, this amazing kid of ours, turned twelve!

Early that morning, we took the ferry from Dublin (Ireland) to Holyhead (Wales, UK). It was nice to surprise Myron with a small gift he had been talking about for weeks (a better suction cup for his GoPro) and which he did not expect to get from us. Spending a few hours of his birthday on a ferry was not bad either; this kid loves the water ;)

"And I got to spend part of my birthday in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!!"

We passed the town with the longest name in the world and of course we had to stop here. Locals like to start a conversation and they all want to tell you what it sounds like. It goes a bit like this: Llan-vire-pooll-guinn-gill-go-ger-u-queern-drop-ooll-llandus-ilio-gogo-goch!

And it means: Saint Mary's Church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio of the red cave. Well, we had lunch here ;)

No birthday is complete without a birthday cake. Since we are travelling, it really depends on where we stop and shop, on what kind of cake we can find. This time, the only thing we could find was a Swiss cake. For our whipped-cream-loving kid not a bad choice ;)

It was a fun day!
