Mosi-Oa-Tunya

We found a campsite in the city of Victoria Falls from which we could walk to the Victoria Falls! Somehow it made the experience even better.

The locals call Victoria Falls in their Kololo or Lozi language "Mosi-Oa-Tunya" or "the smoke that thunders."

Together with the Niagara Falls in North America and the Iguaca Falls in South America, they are the greatest waterfalls in the world. One is higher, one is wider, and one has the most average volume. We are very lucky to now have seen two out of the three :)

We were so happy to be here. It has been long on John's wish list as he is a waterfall lover!

We had a fun time but got totally soaked by the falls' spray. It was very surreal to be wet to the bone and walk back to the campsite, where we arrived almost dry. The African sun is hot!

It was another fun day!

Tomorrow we drive over this bridge into Zambia.
