Cabin Fever - irritability, listlessness, and similar symptoms resulting from long confinement or isolation indoors during the winter.
I am not sure what to answer when I have to fill out a Covid screening and the question "Do you have a fever?" comes up. Well, yes, but no... We have a mild case of cabin fever here in the house!
It has been a long stretch of very cold weather lately and most of the days it has been too cold to spend much time outside. We really are not too picky, but windchills around -35°C are not fun for long. We have a record amount of snow and not even the weather to enjoy it! Super frustrating and the end is not in sight.
This was today around noon... and now at night, another blizzard is bringing even more snow.
Since my last post, we have done a lot of little things. We had dental appointments, optometrist appointments, and we had our health checked. John, Raija, and I, all bought a second pair of glasses, just to be prepared in case a pair breaks during our trip.
We also have found a family willing to take care of our cats for the year! Thank you G&P, we hope they will give you as much joy as they give us every day. We found other friends who will be our mailing address for the year. Thanks T&S, very much appreciated!
We let the children's school know that the children will have their last day on March 25, the day before spring break and I also wrote learning plans for both kids for April - June of this year. These were sent off with the registration forms to the department of homeschooling under the Manitoba Ministry of Education. All exciting little steps towards our big trip.
Our departure date is coming up soon, and it easy to dream about it the whole day long, but we keep reminding ourselves that there is so much more to enjoy right now.
Mies turned five on February 17 so we spoiled her with some treats and catnip.
And the kids made a string of paper loops, to count down till our departure date. Today Raija cut off day 36...
